Black battery-operated Dump Trailer. Originally purchased to haul shavings for the stalls. Pony Express (where we get our shavings now) has a larger trailer that they load to haul so we no longer have any need for this dump bed. It has been off the Ranch maybe 5 times since it was purchased. The plywood sides, painted black, and top were custom made for the trailer to protect the shavings during transport.
Black Dump Trailer $3,500
Complete pictures of all sides can be emailed if you are interested. Email us at luskranch@yahoo.com to request those pictures.

Talula Mula "Mula", taken a few days after she arrived at the Ranch, July 17, 2009. When we got her the first thing John and I both said was she was a little skinny and had no butt.
Mula, taken Nov. 1, 2009, just about 4 months of being at Lusk Ranch and being fed Lusk Ranch Race Blend feed. She has filled out and her coat has gotten so smooth, silky, and dark. When Mula arrived, she was immediately put on the Lusk Ranch feeding program. Of course, each horse has feed (amount) tailored to their needs but ALL horses at Lusk Ranch are fed a special Lusk Ranch Race Blend. This blend was formulated by John Lusk based on years of experience feeding race horses. Before being able to put together what he knew horses needed, his favorite grain mix to feed race horses was Omalene 200. That has gotten so expensive, some places it's up to $13-$15 per 50 lb. bag. In this day, there was no way we could do that.
We had started buying feed from Kerr Feed in Henrietta, Texas a year or so ago. March of last year, John started working with Wade at Kerr on a formula for grain mix that would be equivalent to Omalene. We beleive they have made one that fits all our needs and more.
Kerr makes the feed fresh. It doesn't sit around a dusty warehouse for days, weeks at a time before it makes it to your barn. We place an order, and pick up 2 days later, the feed is mixed and bagged the morning we pick it up. It's so fresh, and smell amazing!!

This is the tag that comes on the feed bag (except it's bright Pink).
Close up of the feed.
Lusk Ranch Race Blend $9.50 per 50 lb. bag

Come on, he needs someone to rub his belly!! At least he thinks he does!!:)
With the economy in an interesting time right now, times are tough throughout the country. Many will soon be stressing about the upcoming Holidays. You might be looking for that unique, priceless collectible gift for a friend or loved on. Here at Lusk Ranch, especially since the fire, we have been slowly going through everything. Simplify is our new motto! Even before the fire, we always commented on the amount of belongings we had.
We have gone through and selected some very unique, interesting collectibles, glassware and clocks that have been in the Lusk Family for many years. Grace, John's mom, collected specialty collectible plates, clocks, china, and variety of glassware. I am working on compiling a complete list and photographs of the items available. A little will be added each week. Know a couple about to celebrate 25 years of marriage, 50 years? Well, Paul & Grace were lucky to celebrate both and they have many special commemorative platters, plates, cups, mugs, china, etc. for both those special Anniversaries! Photos of those items coming soon...
CLOCKS:
Grandfather Clock - tall, dark wood, wind-up, glass front door. All original. Excellant condition. (Photo soon. It's in dark area of room and hard to photograph - soon!) $1,300
Starburst Clock -
Cool looking, all wood, original, runs. Hangs on wall. $100
"Mother-in-law" Mantel Clock - Howard Miller 1879 mantell clock, dark wood cabinet, winds up, chimes, gold accents, moon changes. $275
Remind O Timer - a Very unique clock. It is a "timer/alarm" type clock that plugs in. In our research, these were used in old motels to wake up their customers. Look closely, each little switch on way or the other, tells the clock when the timer should go off. Cool, huh!
GLASSWARE:
Orange/Yellow Carnival glass "candy dish" - $20
At Lusk Ranch, we breed, raise and evaluate Thoroughbred race horses. We have many registered, accredited Texas bred Thoroughbred mares available, open or in foal.
The 2009 foals are about to be weaned. The mares will be listed shortly.
We are currently working on a list (with photos) of horses for soon to be listed for sale. There will be mares (open & in foal for 2010) and variety of others.
With the devastation to Lusk Ranch in April 2009 from the WildFires that flew across Montague County, we now have a reduced number of horses available for sale. We have five yearlings that survived the fire that we will be working with that are very athletic animals as well as five weanlings born this spring.
We are changing our direction from breeding and foaling to training Thoroughbreds for the race track. With breeding season coming to an end, we will be weeding out our mares in the next few weeks.
Check back for a list of mares (open or in foal) that will be available!
